This is my first year of travel post, which I plan to make a yearly series. I found it interesting to jump back into the calendar to see where I traveled throughout the year. It was a healthy reminder of how much fun travel is. It’s something I look forward to doing every year. With that said, let’s dive into all of the countries, states, and cities that I traveled to with Ashlee in 2019.
January
The 2019 year of travel started out with a couple of important life events. We started the year by getting married in The Bahamas! That trip was incredible and followed up by spending time in Kauai Hawaii for our honeymoon.
March
After moving to Houston, Texas from DC, we made a weekend trip to Shreveport. There, we spent quality time with friends.
April
In April, we made a weekday trip to DC and spent time with our old crew. Later in the month, we had a family wedding in Dallas.
May
A work trip in May took us out west to San Francisco. We also made a weekend trip to Baton Rouge.
June
Another family wedding took us back to Shreveport in June. For our second wedding of the month, we went to Cleveland for DC friends for our wedding.
July
An annual family beach trip in July allowed us to soak up the sun on the Emerald Coast in Destin Florida.
September
We made a weekend trip with meet friends to Galveston, our first time in the city. LSU played Texas in Austin so we headed there for the game.
October
We take a 2-week international trip every year so this year we chose Portugal and Morocco. If you are looking to make a trip, check out my Lisbon travel guide, Porto travel guide, and Marrakech travel guide.
November
My Dad and I’s golf trip this year was in Alabama in early November. That trip was followed up with a weekend in New Orleans. We then had a wedding in Birmingham followed by a wedding in Mobile. The Thanksgiving holiday allowed us to spend time in Baton Rouge.
December
We spent the holidays in Shreveport before closing out the year with a trip to Arizona. Our itinerary included Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, the Grand Canyon, and Sedona.
Conclusion on our 2019 Year of Travel:
In this year of travel, I knocked out 3 countries (The Bahamas, Morocco, Portugal), 7 states, 2 of which was new to me (Hawaii, Ohio), and 21 cities in 2019.
