In this Frequent Flyer post, I share Amazon Books I’ve Purchased, Frequent Flyer Articles I’ve Read, Recent Points With Q Blog posts, New Shows, and Movies I’ve Discovered, New Music I’m Listening To, and New Wine I Enjoyed.
On the book front, I started Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World this week. I also started reading Win Your Case: How to Present, Persuade, and Prevail–Every Place, Every Time. This a book a friend of mine sent to me and recommended. You can find all of the books I’ve reviewed here.

Amazon Books I’ve Purchased
Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World is the book I’m currently reading and recently purchased. From the book description, a closer look at research on the world’s top performers, from professional athletes to Nobel laureates, shows that early specialization is the exception, not the rule. David Epstein examined the world’s most successful athletes, artists, musicians, inventors, forecasters, and scientists. He discovered that in most fields—especially those that are complex and unpredictable—generalists, not specialists, are primed to excel. Generalists often find their path late, and they juggle many interests rather than focusing on one. They’re also more creative, more agile, and able to make connections their more specialized peers can’t see.

New Shows and Movies I’ve Discovered
Ashlee and I dove into Chef’s Table: BBQ this week. We started with Tootsie Tomanetz, a pitmaster at a legendary BBQ restaurant in Texas. The Englishman Lennox Hastie was next. He blew us away by only using a wood fire (read no electricity) to cook food in his highly rated Australian restaurant. Our week ended with Rodney Scott and his award-winning hog BBQ restaurant in Charleston, South Carolina.
New Music I’m Listening To
Neon (feat. Ost & Kjex & Malonda) was on repeat this week. It’s only 28 minutes but worked well as background noise.
New Wine I Enjoyed
Oso Pardo from Scout & Cellar is a Spanish Tempranillo from La Mancha, Spain. It’s bold and dry per Vivino’s description. Compared to Meomi Pinot Noir I talked about in last week’s post, Oso Pardo comes up short.
