Ashlee and I are continuing to spend an extended time in Louisiana with family and no trips planned so my reading volume and podcast consumption are likely to increase, which is a good thing. With that said, I have a few more podcats recommendations than usual as well as books I can’t wait to review in my monthly books list post.

Amazon Books I Purchased
Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World is the book I’m currently reading and nearly finished with. I can’t recommend this book enough! Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity is next on the list. Certainly, it will be a much lighter read compared to Lords of Finance.

Music and Podcasts I Listened To
Lewis OfMan was a recommendation from the Mister Spoils newsletter that I’ve been jamming to all week. In addition, New Jackson is another artist on this week’s playlist.
On the podcast front, after finishing The Joe Rogan Experience #450 – Cameron Hanes, I listened to The Joe Rogan Experience #1204 – Steven Rinella. Steven is an outdoorsman, author, and television host. He currently hosts “MeatEater” on Netflix and has a podcast called “MeatEater”. Above all, Steven is a fascinating, well-read guest that I’d love to talk to.
How I Built This Dropbox: Drew Houston tells the story of how Drew Houston built a cloud-based file storage and sharing service called Dropbox on a bus ride to New York from Boston. Fourteen years later, Drew and his co-founder, Arash Ferdowsi, have built Dropbox into a behemoth.
How I Built This McBride Sisters Wine Part 1 and Part 2 are powerful episodes telling the story of how Robin McBride and Andréa McBride used their life savings on an importer’s license and began selling New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc in the US. After grinding it out, the sisters created their own collection now available on grocery shelves nationwide. The McBride Sisters Collection of wine is one of the biggest Black-owned wine companies in the world.
