The Grand Hotel and Spa, otherwise known as Grand Hotel Point Clear, is a points hotel located on Mobile Bay in southwest Alabama. Marriott owns the hotel so you can redeem Marriott points and certificates during your stay.

There are 2 golf courses, 7 bars and restaurants, an indoor and outdoor pool, a fitness center, a spa, and beach access at the Grand Hotel. Amongst Fairhope hotels, the Marriott Grand Hotel is likely one of your best points hotel options.

Before going to book this hotel, it’s important to note that we stayed during Hurricane Zeta. The hotel management dropped the ball on a few things that I detailed in Best Places to Visit in the Fall During a Pandemic. We put this on the shoulders of the management team. For the most part, the hotel staff provided excellent customer service.

Grand Hotel Point Clear is a category 6 Marriott property. This means you need 40,000 (off-peak) to 60,000 (peak) points per night. Separately, you can use the 50,000-point free night certificate at this hotel if your travel dates are off-peak or standard.

We booked this hotel with a combination of cash and points. Our travel dates were during off-peak pricing so we used 80,000 points for two nights and paid cash for the additional two nights.
