There’s an additional IHG credit called the IHG Rewards Club Traveler Credit Card. This card is a $0 annual fee card that you can also apply for. Keep in mind that the Chase 5/24 rule comes into play with these cards.

Cardmembers earn 140,000 Bonus Points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening There is a $99 annual fee on the card that is not waived for the first year.

IHG Premier Credit Card Perks

An Anniversary Reward Night, the ability to earn additional Reward Nights, IHG Platinum Elite status, no foreign transaction fees, and a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS statement credit.

The Anniversary Night is valid at participating IHG hotels requiring 40,000 points or less per night.

Card members earn additional Rewards Nights when they redeem points for a consecutive four-night IHG hotel stay.

IHG Platinum elite status comes complimentary on the card. Platinum status offers early check-in (subject to availability), a welcome amenity at check-in, complimentary upgrades (subject to availability), guaranteed room availability, a reward night discount, and 60% bonus points on stays.

When traveling internationally, the card charges no foreign transaction fees. While the earning rates on the card_name aren’t great, no foreign transaction fees save you money if you have no alternative travel credit card.

Every four years the card member receives up to a $100 credit for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or a NEXUS statement credit. These expedited security memberships can save you time getting through security at the airport.

How to Earn Points with the IHG Club Premier

140,000 bonus points are what make this card exciting. Cardmembers earn 10x points at IHG hotels and earn 5 points per $1 spent on purchases on travel, gas stations, and restaurants. You also earn 3 points per $1 spent on all other purchases.

If you’re an IHG member and a card member, you earn 25x points at IHG. You earn 10x points as a card member and 10x points as an IHG Rewards Club member. In addition, you earn 5x points as an IHG Platinum Elite. Elite status is a benefit that comes with the card.

How to Redeem Points with the IHG Club Premier

IHG has 14 brands within its hotel portfolio that you can redeem points at. Each of these brands caters to a specific type of traveler. Kimpton Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza, and InterContinental are the premium brands. Generally speaking, you receive the most value with your points at these hotels.

Anniversary Night can be used at most of these premium brands around the world. To receive the most value, redeem the Anniversary Night when the cash value of your hotel stay is high.

What Cards Compete with the IHG Club Premier

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless, World of Hyatt Credit Card, and Hilton Honors American Express Surpass compete against the card_name. The $95 annual fee Boundless earns 6x points at Marriott, the $95 annual fee World of Hyatt earns 4x points at Hyatt, and the $95 annual fee Surpass earns 12x points at Hilton.

In terms of premium hotel cards, there is the $450 annual fee for Hilton Honors American Express Aspire and the $450 annual fee for Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express. Aspire cardmembers earn 14x points at Hilton. You earn 6x points at Marriott with the Brilliant.
