Capital One Venture X Details
New card members earn 75,000 bonus miles when they spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Capital One Venture X is a fairly new card from Capital One that comes with a $395 annual fee and requires an excellent credit score for approval. Data points suggest a credit score of at least 740 is required to be approved.
Capital One Venture X Credits
Capital One Venture X comes with a $300 Annual Travel Credit, a once every four years Global Entry & TSA PreCheck credit, and a Premier Collection experience credit.
Cardmembers receive up to $300 in statement credits for travel booked through Capital One Travel. This statement credit generally shows up on your account 1-7 business days after you make a transaction. Capital One Travel is a reservation platform that allows you to book airfare, hotels, and car rentals.
For a limited time, Capital One Venture X is offering up to $200 in statement credits within your first cardmember year for vacation rentals. The statement credit should appear in your account within 1-7 business days after the transaction. Eligible vacation rental merchants include Airbnb, Turnkey, Vacasa, and VRBO.
Global Entry and TSA PreCheck can be a huge time-saver getting through airport security. So, an $85 TSA PreCheck or a $100 Global Entry statement credit every four years comes to the rescue. I do not incorporate this value annually when looking at the card’s annual fee because this credit is valid once every four years.
Elevate your stay at luxury hotels and resorts from the Premier Collection with a $100 experience credit, daily breakfast for 2, and complimentary WiFi on every booking, plus other premium benefits like room upgrades, early check-in, and late checkout when available.
Capital One Venture X Benefits
Capital One Venture X is loaded with benefits that outweigh the $395 annual fee. Cardmembers receive Anniversary Bonus Miles, Travel Price Protection, Capital One Lounge Access, Priority Pass, No Foreign Transaction Fees, Cell Phone Protection, Free Authorized Users, and Hertz President’s Circle status.
Every cardmember anniversary, you receive 10,000 bonus miles, valued at at least $100 being that you can redeem these miles with Capital One at 1 cent per mile. However, you can receive a much higher value than 1 cent per mile by transferring your miles to Capital One’s travel partners.
When you book travel through Capital One Travel, price drop protection is automatically added to your reservation. If a flight that you book drops in price after your make your reservation, Capital One issues you a refund for the difference in airfare.
The airport lounge game is now a hyper-competitive landscape. Banks like Capital One and Chase are stepping up for cardmembers by launching their lounges to compete with American Express Centurion Lounges. With Capital One Venture X, cardmembers and up to two guests receive unlimited access to Capital One Lounges and their Partner Lounge Network.
A Priority Pass lounge membership also comes with the Venture X. This membership gives cardmembers access to 1,300 lounges in more than 600 cities and more than 148 countries.
Cell Phone Protection is a feature we’re starting to see more and more on premium credit cards. When you pay your cell phone bill with your Venture X, and your phone is stolen or damaged, you can be reimbursed up to $800. Hertz President’s Circle status allows cardmembers to skip the counter to pick up their rental directly on the car lot. President’s Circle comes with the ability to select any car on the lot and free upgrades.
How to Earn Miles with the Capital One Venture X
You earn 2 Miles per dollar on every purchase, every day, 10 Miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, and 5 Miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel.
You earn 3x points on hotels and car rentals with the Chase Sapphire Reserve as a point of comparison. The Amex Platinum Card and Amex Business Platinum Card earn 5x points on airfare. The Citi Double Cash earns 2x points on all purchases.
How to Redeem Miles with the Capital One Venture X
Capital One has 18 transfer partners, most of which now have 1:1 transfer ratios. Transfer times take between 1-5 days depending upon the transfer partner.
