The Pacific Northwest is one of my favorite parts of the US. Not only should Seattle travel be part of any Pacific Northwest itinerary, but you also have cities like Portland Oregon and Vancouver Canada also worth checking out.
Seattle is located on Puget Sound. The city has the perfect mixture of forests, mountains, and water that makes any picture you take stand out. In addition, the city is home to big tech companies like Amazon and Microsoft. As you might expect with big companies, the city’s food and drink seek to meet that demand, which is great for your Seattle vacation.

Best Credit Cards to Use in Seattle
It’s likely no secret that Seattle is a food city. Seattle also has a craft beer scene that’s worth making a trip for. With that said, the Amex Gold, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Citi Premier Card are cards to bring with you to Seattle.

How to Fly to Seattle
Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is the major airport serving the city. It’s also the hub for Alaska Airlines. As a result, there are a number of Alaska flights you can book from airports across the US to Seattle.
We flew Southwest Airlines because we have the Companion Pass. Other flight options include Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, and United Airlines.
Where to Stay When Visiting Seattle
We stayed at an Airbnb and loved the experience! Unfortunately, the one we stayed at is no longer listed. However, our Airbnb was in the Cherry Hill neighborhood and the location was ideal.

Where to Eat and Drink During Your Seattle Travel
For coffee/breakfast, Bakery Nouveau is delicious. In addition, check out Ashlee’s list of coffee/breakfast spots. Tavern Law is ideal for cocktails. Head to Fremont Brewing, Reuben’s Brews, Stoup Brewing, and Lucky Envelope Brewing for your beer fix. For dinner, Bar Cotto, Barrio Mexican Kitchen & Bar, and Pink Door are places we enjoyed.
On our next trip to Seattle, our list of restaurants includes Canlis, Canon, Cloudburst Brewing, Il Corvo, JuneBaby, RockCreek Seafood & Spirits, Sea Wolf Bakers, Stateside, Sushi Kashiba, and Wild Ginger.
Things to do in Seattle
There are several Seattle places to visit. So let’s start with Gas Works Park, a 19-acre public park on the site of a former gas plant, located on the north shore of Lake Union. A trip to Seattle isn’t complete without seeing the Space Needle. This 605-ft.-tall spire has an observation deck with incredible views of the city. Close your day at The Gum Wall. It’s a brick wall covered in gum located under Pike Place Market.
Pike Place Market is where you’ll start day two. If the line isn’t too long, grab a coffee at the original Starbucks. Next, walk the market to see the fresh flowers, seafood, and produce locals are buying. When you finish at Pike Place Market, check out Kerry Park during sunset. This small public park has a fantastic view of downtown Seattle.

Visit Seattle has several day trips from Seattle to consider taking. As you might expect, these Seattle day trips are heavily gears towards the outdoors. Personally, Mount Rainier and the San Juan Islands are at the top of my list.

We never felt unsafe walking around Seattle. Yes, there are parts of the city you may want to stay away from at night. However, every place we visited felt safe.

June to September has the combination of warmer temps and low precipitation. The highs average 70-75 degrees while the lows average 53-57 degrees. Seattle weather constantly changes so be prepared no matter what time of year you visit.
How many days should I spend in Seattle?
Three days is likely plenty of time. If you add in day trips from Seattle, add an additional day per trip to your itinerary.
